Top Two Tuesday: Simple Pleasures

While on my internet travels this afternoon I stumbled across a lovely little treasure in The Undomestic Momma. Not only does she have a RIDICULOUSLY adorable daughter, but she also hosts a little diddy called Top Two Tuesday which I've decided would be fun to try!

This weeks topic - Top 2 Simple Pleasures

1) There are very few things in this world that give me more pleasure than hearing my child babble. The nonsense, the non-words, the giggles interspersed with screaming in delight and every now and then a "Mama", "Dada", or his new favorite (much to my dismay) "Nnnnooooo". (REALLY glad he learned that one let me tell ya ::rolls eyes so hard it hurts::)

Since learning "nnnnnoooo" this is a typical morning in our house:

me: Good morning buddy, do you want to go eat?

Keagan: Eat. NO. Alll Goooonnnne.

me: Can mommy have a hug?

Keagan: No. Eat. Allll Gooonnne.

me: Keagan, where's the monkey?

Keagan: No. Wa-wa. Eat. No. Alllll Gooonnnne.

Guess which words are his second favorite...

2) My second simple pleasure is a good one, at least to me. I was reminded of how much I love this simple pleasure just this morning when my husband curled into me, all warm and cuddly and started running his fingers through my hair.

I remember back in our (young) college days when we would only have to go to class maybe for 3 hours a day and would be in one of our rooms cuddling on the twin sized bed (how on Earth the two of us slept like that is beyond me still) and he would put me to sleep just running his fingers through my hair. We would wake up entagled with one another, usually with a puddle of drool on his chest, blissfully happy.

This morning all those amazing young love feelings came rushing back, just with a simple touch.
