Snow Day. Just Not For Me.
As I shuffled out to start my car this morning, carefully maneuvering the newest inches of snow in one brown shoe and one black shoe (What? It was dark in the garage...and I just didn't care) I noticed it was eerily quiet.
There were no Middle School and High School students (you know, the unlucky ones whose awful parents won't let them drive to school yet) huddling on the corner waiting for the bus. No mothers with Elementary School students cleaning off their cars in preparation for delivery. Just the snow falling.
Damnit. Snow Day again.
Why oh why didn't I become a teacher? Or just keep failing Senior year over and over again so I could still get Snow Days?
Because you know what? This being a grown up thing...not all it's cracked up to be.

34 Weeks Down...
Six more to go.
Oh boy.
I had my check - up last night. All is well. Shamrock is head down (which I suspected due to his constant kicking of my ribs), I'm measuring perfect and life is grand.
The "Holy Crap" moment of the appointment? They had me schedule my appointments through my due date week.
There aren't that many.
Good thing I don't freak out unneccesarily about things huh? (sarcasm, it's key.)

Very Wise Words Indeed.
Growing a human is hard work and deserves to be rewarded with cookies from time to time. Particularly since we have to give up chardonnay.

Our Little Shamrock...
...is THIS big this month!

Per thenestbaby.com, Shamrock’s senses are continuing to improve -- when light peeks in through my (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And, he can now recognize and react to simple songs… time to start practicing our lullabies! Growth (at least inside your womb) is starting to slow, and I may notice him descend into my pelvis at the end of this month.

You Want Me to Put that WHERE?
I realized my biggest fear of becoming a parent today while interviewing our pediatrician.

The Sober Irish Chick.
A group of us went braved the snowy weather and went bowling last night. Hilarity ensued.

Now, I usually kick Randy's butt. Big time. Sadly, he killed us all his first game. BUT, being the genius that he is, he finally figured out why I hadn't brought my "A Game".
Obviously I'm not doing well...I'm Irish, not drinking and bowling. These things do not go hand in hand for success. Now if I was bombed? This game would be MINE!
